Dr. Sharada K. S. is the Head of the B.B.A. LL.B. Programme and Assistant Professor at KLE Law College, Bengaluru, where she has been serving since July 2011. She holds a Ph.D. in Law from Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi, awarded in 2024, for her thesis titled “A Critical Study on the Right to Freedom of Media and Right to Privacy in India.” She qualified the UGC-NET in Law in 2012 and completed her LL.M. from S.D.M. Law College, Mangalore University, in 2008.
Before joining KLE Law College, she worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Humanities at Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumkur, where she taught Constitution of India and Professional Ethics. She has also served as Visiting Faculty at Akshaya Institute of Technology and Siddartha Medical College, Tumkur. She began her teaching career at Sree Jagadguru Renukacharya Law College, Bengaluru, and has also practiced as an Advocate before the High Court of Karnataka, Bengaluru.
Her academic interests include Media Law, Constitutional Law, Human Rights, Privacy Law, and allied areas of public law. She has guided postgraduate and undergraduate research work and has published scholarly articles in reputed journals on themes such as labour welfare, social media and elections, media trial, right to privacy, and the right to be forgotten.
She has presented research papers at national and international seminars on issues relating to media, women’s political participation, and social media’s influence on Indian elections. She is currently working as the Principal Investigator for the Capacity Building Project 2025–26 titled “Access to Primary Education to the Children of Construction Workers with Special Reference to Ullal Area.”
In addition to teaching and research, she has been actively involved in legal aid services and community legal literacy programmes. She is committed to academic excellence, student development, critical thinking, and ethical responsibility among law students.
